NYSCC & LISCC Celebrate Pride Month

Organizations are proud to be part of an industry that celebrates diversity.

The New York and Long Island Chapters of the SCC have joined forces to celebrate Pride Month, an annual commemoration of the Stonewall uprising that occurred in 1969.  This single-day occurrence has now grown into a month-long celebration of diversity and raises awareness, improves the attitudes of society, and encourages inclusiveness of the LGBTQ+ community.

NYSCC and LISCC said they are proud to be part of an industry that celebrates diversity on so many levels. “We will continue to choose our leadership based on the person best suited for the role, regardless of gender identity, ability, religion, age, or culture. In addition, the many brands within the beauty/personal care arena have long included exposure and championed the LGBTQ+ community in their advertising, marketing, and social communications,” the organizations said in their announcement today.

“This exposure translates into increased acceptance and support for LGBTQ+ issues.  And in general, inherently promotes the value of diversity and commitment to action that fosters this acceptance,” said NYSCC and LISCC.
